The Stealer is Friggin Outrageous!!!!

So I called my Local stealer here in CT!

I want to do the Dinan Engine and Tranny Software for my X5.....

..and get my DRL's shut off..

They want to charge me $299.00 PER FLASH..

plus $61.00 per flash......

then another $61.00 to do my DRL's.

$781.00 lets call it $800.00 bucks to get this all done....man.....is there anyother way to get this done.....or could anyone lend me some words to get the price down.....I'm usually good with this stuff, but when it comes to the stealer....they just don't friggin budge.... I'm venting and at the end of the day I'll probget it done....I've heard of some deals or half price type deals that have been out there....UGGGGH!!!!

It says on Dinans website quoted install time is .5 hr, so they should be charging you .5 unit of their hourly rate per flash. $61 x 2 = $122 sounds about right considering most dealer rates are $110-160/hr. The tranny software is $299 and engine software is $399+ so it sounds like they already gave you a discount..

Try calling a different Dinan distributor but I don't know what you expect? The DRL's are easy to turn off but they still have the hook the car up to the GT1 and reprogram the LKM module.. .5 hr is not unreasonable.

You are spot on......Like I said ...at the end of the day ..I'll be there with the cash......just hurts when you are used to doing a bunch of Mods on your own or through your INDY........but ..yes.......jvit27...you are absolutely correct!

True its not cheap, but Dinan is as good as you're going to get and it's not really fair to chastise the dealer like the thread title suggests.

Yeah! Good point! The Stealer is a Stealer as far as I am concerned but based on that comment......we'll lock this one up....I was more venting based on what I have done through my INDY and on my own.......saving a good amount of cash..lot's of things in life are not goodto do , but sometimes you just do them.
