After a minor job on my 735 at the local dealer http://bmw.ostbyen-bil.no/I noticed several fresh scrathes on the roof, some down to the primer. The car had been mine for years, always carefully washed and waxed by hand, so I knew every spot. I am quite sure that they somehow had lost the exhaust ventilation tube down on top of my car. No one at the dealers would admit reponsibility.
After two weeks of discussions I visited the sales manager and told him that they had seen the last of me, and as many of my personal network as possible. I assured him that I would balance the book by taking at least ten times the actual cost off their future earnings.
This is eight years ago, I have bought two new BMWs since, had all service done by BMW, but never visited them. The market economics some times works beautiful, and revenge is sweet; 6 months ago they were out of business and had to sell

I talked to the service manager today. He's a nice guy and didn't have a problem fixing it. He asked if I had time to wait because the fix shouldn't take too long. He also mentioned it would be better to take it back Monday since the tech's during the week are more experienced. I told him I will go ahead and do that. I am glad they are willing to make the situation better but at the same time it's not much of a fix. I think they will just have a senior tech apply some wax and call it a day since "it will not take that long". That will hide the scratches for now but it will resurface right back. I don't know if I should be pushy about taking it to a detailer since it's really their decision to even be nice to admit they scratched it and try to fix the problem. I might as well wait until I have time to detail the car myself

Left the car yesterday and got the car today. They didn't hesistate to fix the problem. Car is washed and the fender is waxed. Most of the scratches are gone but there were still some left. I think they did what they could. I'm going to be detailing the car in the fall so I'm not too picky. The dealership messed up and made the situation better. I'm definitely satisfied with their service
