Sounds like the trans is going though the mileage seems low.

I think I can say that it is common in BMW auto's for the transmission to shift hard, or "feel like its slipping" before the fluid gets up to operating temperature.

It doesn't sound exactly the same as my problem... 01 4.4i; however, at about 70,000 miles it started having trouble with reverse. I would shift to reverse, and I'd have to blip the throttle to get it to engage. Eventually it reverse died and I have to push it backwards for a while. I had to have the transmission replaced to the tune of $6890 at Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, N.C.
I'm sure some others can give you better advice on your 3.0 and best of luck. |

I hope it isn't the tranny. The truck only has 29K. The slip doesn't happen all that often. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a bigger problem. Thanks for the input guys.
