weird whineing sound

hey guys, ive been having a very weird whineing sound coming from the engine bay lately during a cold start. It sounds like its coming from the fan area but im not sure. You can only hear it when you start driving and are staying at low RPM's, sounds sorta like a supercharger whine ? anyone ever have this problem or know what it could possibly be?

Is your AC on? Does it go away after the engine warms up? I have a similar whine if the AC is engaged during startup, but goes away after the engine warmed up.

Idle Tensionor pulley...I had the same exact problem. Eventually it will make that noise all the time, whether its warmed up or not... its annoying and embarassing...

Its cheap. It cost like $200 at the shop to fix. I took it to a Indie shop..Not the dealer of course.. Takes like 2 hours to fix. Its not an emergency type of situation though. I went months and months before I finally got tired of it and got it fixed.

Apparently some of those pulleys are know to fail. There was member that had one break about a week ago. X5girl posted on this and recommended these sweet pulleys. You should def. check out her posts to find these because they will last forever and look frick'n cool as hell. Look into it, I would if I were you.
