Off road mud flaps and tire wraps.

It turns out the SA did order the O/R flaps. Same oem number and price as the regular ones, just need to stipify O/R. BMW only made them only for the rear though. The fronts remain the same.

They charged 62 for the set of two and list a glue package as well for the off road flaps at $70. The dealer installed all four for 160 without charging for the glue.?!

Since I was switching seasonal sets, it seemed natural to order the tire wraps, 20 bucks for two. They are Awesome. Best 40 bucks I have spent in a long time. Sport 19"s fit easily in them and the construction is heavy duty. Velcro closures, elastic side gathers and a handle that actually works. You can pick the 19's with tires by the handle without any issues.

They have been promoting themselves against the Indy shops here. Offering a competitive pricing structure and BMW specific techs. Pretty much, the single most talented mech. in town is the head of the shop. He is well respected and a fair guy. So far, they have really done a great job.

What's the difference between the regular ones and the off road?

we may never know why BMW calls the rear flaps "off road" because the only mud flap sold for the rear is called Off Road...there is no "regular" rear mud flap.

Then for the front...there are only 2 types...but that is for fitment reasons...one is for e53s with the aluminum foot plates...and the other is for the regular black ones...there is no"off road" front mud flaps.

There used to be an "off road" and "regular" versions for the rear. The "off road" version is supposedly a couple inches longer and don't have the "notch cut-out" near the inner wheel well. I have the "regular" version.

Ah...learned something new. Got a pic of the regular version?

Here's the off road version:

Here's a picture of the "regular" version - noticed the notched cutout. I actually like the "off road" version better, but didn't know about it until much later. The "off road" version is also better since it use double sided tape instead of requiring windshield glue on the "regular" version

Fascinating...thanks for posting an image that shows the difference. But I can't wrap my brain around the "why"...as in why the "regular" flap was designed that way...with the notch.
