ALTERNATOR REGULATOR

4.4i 2000 - Does anyone know where a regulator can be purchased? I've been told it's not possible, but isn't that what is done when second hand alternators are purchased? Aren't they revamped with brushes or regulator?

I think thats all i need. my alternator is at 70amps. x5 has a 150 amp alternator. with new brushes or regulator and your good to go. keep us posted of what u decide to do. autozone has them for 450.00, not sure if its water cooled.

I've been told the alternator can't be opened - but yet second-hand/re-vamped ones are being sold
