Thanks!

So far, after 6 weeks, I have mixed feelings for it.

I'm very impressed with the power and quality of the materials. However, the interior rattles quite a bit for such a low mile vehicle (17,000 miles). It started getting bad once the temps around here fell below 45*F. Mostly dull noises from under the dashboard where it meets the windshield.

I traded in a high-mileage 2000 Chevy Silverado Z71, which was my daily driver for 7 years. That truck's interior was quieter at 130,000 miles than the X5 is right now, and I find that a little disappointing.

Unfortunately I am a pretty picky individual when it comes to stuff like that.

Noises in the dash area are uncommon... if it is under warranty they can track it down for you. My 87k miles 03 has a whisper quiet interior since I fixed the tailgate rattle.

I'm sorry to hear that but I would get that checked out (might be something very simple as a loose harness or something). I have an 04 4.8 I just bought about a month ago with 33K on it - no rattles anywhere. It's been below freezing temps here especially in the evenings. As far as the interior noise, if you're talking about how much outside noise you can hear, I have the same complaint. It's like the seals are not sealing properly on the doors.

My 01 is also whether travelling single or triple digits, no squeaky.
