Back in the Club

Well, it has been a long time. I had an '02 X5 way back when, but tonight we went out a bought a slightly used '05.

This car will become my 15 year old's car in about a year, but for now, it'll be mine.

After 4 years of driving a 400+hp sedan, it's interesting to be behind the wheel of an X5 again. But, I'm sure it will grow on me, and will work out just fine.

Thanks Jefe. It's been awhile. Now maybe I'll try to contribute more than political argument.

Next stops:
  • XM radio
    CAI
    Tune
Navigation (probably just go portable -seems like a pain and $$ to do more than that$

Unfortunately, but not for much longer. The word has come down from my bosses (wife and kids) that a bigger house is necessary and no longer avoidable, and the boat has to go to accomodate said house in our budget.

We move to the new digs the day after Christmas, and the boat will be gone shortly thereafter.

Always a sad day to see the boat go, but understandable in the overall priority of things. There's always another one on the horizon...

The next one, if there is one, would be a very small inshore fishing boat, I think.

A friend of mine has a plane, and I'm starting to think about pilot lessons.

This 3.0 is a little spunkier than I had thought it would be, but I think I'll do a few small things to it. I did a CAI and a tune on the V, and I coupld feel the difference. I'll start there, and probably finish there, on this car.

My wife has given me permission to buy a car after we sell our current house (we are doing the move then sell plan - sort of a high wire act in this market, so I'm hoping it comes out OK).

BTW - new car is silver, with gray interior. I've never had a silver car before - I usually get black.

Lemans - thanks for the welcome "home" from a way-back prodigal.
