Passenger side door lock

On my E53 2004, the passenger side door lock won't open with the remoter or the central locking system button. I have to manually strech over and unlock, it.

Now would this be covered under the certified series extended BMW warranty? It should right? I've made an appointment for them to see it, but not sure if its covered I think it should be if they say otherwise I'll argue.

Also has anyone had this similar problem?
