ca911, Thanks for that link again...it would be good for any current or prospective
CPO covered driver to give that a read and bookmark it, imo. The problem is that the CPO "coverage" is so craftily worded to be on BMW's side, imo. Just looking at one item for example, on the "covered" list is "brakes": yet on the "not covered" list is brake pads and rotors, So what part(s) of the freakin "brakes" are "covered"? No barrister here, but spent a lot of time in biz doing warranty and guaranty and applicable usage coverage for our complex chemical product line with our internal lawyers and that is masterful bs boilerplate, imo. CPO doesn't cover control arm/balljoints/bushings and tie rod ends. That's high maintenance group for them to skip on the E53. Crafty..

Here's a simple rule. If it will make the dealer money, it's NOT covered under CPO. If it costs less then $25 to fix, they'll do it as a courtesy. Here's another rule of thumb to keep in mind. If the car is still under warranty and you see wet hoses the dealer will declare 'no problem found'. If, the day after the warranty expires you ask them to check the same problem, there WILL be a problem found and it will cost $800 to fix.
