major diff's between '05 and '06 4.4i

I have been jonesing for this car and could use a bit of advise making the purchase. i understand the '06 comes standard with many of the '05 options. also, i'm seeing lots of invetory with 10 - 20% price diff. any help here is greatly appreciated.

Hi Michelle - thanks for this. my take away is aside from glitzy gauges there's no reason to pay a premium for an '06 if i find a clean '05.

you aware of any threads around buying a used x5?

The single biggest factor for an 06 over an 05 is a longer warranty period. That's it IMHO.

makes sense. if the car is still in warranty i understand i can buy the extended warranty to 100k miles from a dealer. is that true and are there any gotchas I should be aware of?

yeah, just do a search on x5 world to hear about extended warranty experiences. You'll be nice and surprised how what is covered and what is not covered depends on the dealer, problem, cost to repair, weather, service advisor's lack of sleep the night before, and of course the always popular flip of a coin.
