REAR HATCH AND TAIL GATE ACCESS

I need to get access to the back where the spare is in order to get my TV tuner out of my totalled X5. There is NO power to the vehicle, and jumping it will not work. Is there a way to manually get the rear hatch/tail gate open?

There should be a small rounded rectangular plastic tab on the inside of the tailgate. If you open that tab and pull out, it will allow you to to open the tailgate without power.
