Exclamation HELP W. RADIO CONTROL HEAD UNIT MID

Perhaps someone can help me with this issue, I recently purchased a 2001 X5 and I tried to get to know the operation of the Radio... However the radio powers on fine and i can move from one channel to the other except its stuck on "BLueJAZZ" and the Sound Mode is on "FLAT" and if I try to press the "AM" Key it will not work like nothing happens if I press on the key.
Also when I press on the Clock key to adjust the time it will show me the "SET" option now when I try to press the button underneath the word SET nothing happens as well.

I do not have the Navigation option. I do have the CD Slot and the radio only. The radio head unit shows that I have DSP (Showing on the same key next to the AUDIO)

When I press the "Phone" key also nothing happens it won't even tell me function not available or anything.

So my question to the experts out there, does anyone ever experienced this issue or similar issue before? Also I am looking at suggestions to try???? Thanks for your support

Try disconnecting the plug on the rear of the radio and reconnecting a few minutes later.
I would guess the vehicle has been jump started at some point and the radio needs to be "initialized" as it seems it may be in a "logic lock-out".

I tried doing that and I left the radio unplugged for more than an hour, and then tried it, it still can't go to AM or set the clock !!!

You only have Radio and CD slot? My '01 has a cassette not a CD. I have the 6 CD player unit in the trunk.
I wonder if somebody upgraded the unit by pulling the cassette player and putting in a CD player and that is your problem.

No, I doubt it what your saying is true, because its equipped with the CD storage in the center console. Mine came with the CD changer.

The storage is upgradeable. I guess you'll have to take it to the $tealer as he'll have the computer to check your unit out. You could also go have an aftermarket radio/cd/nav unit fitted for not much more than how much it will hurt at the $tealers.
