^ Wiring harness would not surprise me. The <2004 3.0's have a gimpy engine wiring harness that can throw ABS style errors plus EML. I had that problem occasionally.

If you are getting reasonable mileage, then it is either an idle control problem or some other electrical gremlin that does not affect cruise.

My wifes 01 X5 3.0 just died on her in the middle of an intersection today. She noticed several lights on the dash come on including ABS and brake light. She was able to restart it and drive. I had it towed just in case. Checked for codes, but there were none. I'll check the wire harness on the MAF. Already had the cam position sensor replaced a few years ago; car totally died that time. If its the MAF wire harness, I'll report back. Any idea of where I can buy the harness for a good price online?
