Once Again...Tires

I've been going round and round with tires for my 2004 x5 3.0i

Just received a $70 off any set of 4 michelin tires from Costco...

Any good reccomendation for a replacement set...I am in Seattle so I am looking for a good four season tire.

Also condiering the Good Year Fortera SilentArmor

Size? The std size 17" oem tire for Xs is 235/65R17.
One might be able to stuff a slightly wider tire on there...

The 17" wheel and tire afford the most crummy weather
traction, imo.

A "good four season tire" is a bit of an oxymoron, imo.

The deal on Micheys at Costco: which Michelin species
of tire? They make a couple of dozen types; how would
we know whether that's the one for you?

Tire Rack.com has a neat graphic for each brand and species
within a brand that shows feedback and "ratings" from
hundreds/thousands of buyers. Worth a look, imo.
And, the opins from knowledgeable posters in the Seattle area,
on this board, should point you in the right direction.

Good tires are important, but do some research, decide and
buy'em. This isn't that difficult...you have already received
several good recommendations from good posters on this site.
