X5 Electrical Escapades

I hope 2009 is going well for everyone so far! My questions are regarding some new and not so new electrical issues with my 2002 BMW X5 3.0i with 67,000 miles.

As my husband describes:
First the new issue: The passenger side front door has suddenly fallen "off the radar" in a sense. The power window, power door lock, and power mirror have ceased to function. The window will not operate from either the individual or the master switch on the driver's side although all other windows work fine from both the master switch and individual window switches. The door lock will not actuate from the interior lock button or the remote, all others but the passenger side front function normally. The door handles and latch mechanically work fine although the MID notes and chimes "DOOR OPEN". The pathway lighting is functional on the door panel and under the mirror. The only thing I have checked is the connections to the window switch, all are secure.

Second the old issue: The horn spontaneously sounds while driving. It seems to be related to the turning of the steering wheel although it also occurs while driving straight. I have been able to induce the problem be pushing or pulling on the steering wheel. I replaced the horn relay and still have the problem. The temporary solution has been to pull the fuse for the horn but you never realize how valuable a horn is until someone inattentive moves into your lane!

I truly appreciate all your help!

Thank you in advance.

Door: Check the wiring harness going to the door including any plugs. Check on realoem.com for diagrams of the door.
Horn: New clock spring is the most likely cure. It's not very clear if you can replace the horn push.
