tranny fluid

hi...i would like to know if there is any way to check the fluid level in the tranny...i am used to a dipstick like every other car i have owned but on the x i cant find one..i have a 2005 with 4.4..thaks rob

The tranny on the X5 is sealed, which supposedly means that it will never need maintenance or servicing. But if you're so inclined, take a look at the tips on the home page regarding the article on transmission fluid change procedure and you could very well check the level using the fill plug.
