Brake Fluid Change

How often does the fluid need to be changed?

How long does it take to complete the job?

Every 24 months.

Did you want the time estimate for you to do it at home, or a shop to do it? It would take me something over an hour at home, without a hoist, but I wouldn't bother. Not worth the trouble.

The caution is that there is a risk of getting air in the system (in the ABS valve) and then you may require the BMW computer to cycle the ABS valve to get all the air out. It isn't a given that this will happen, but it is the sort of job I just let the dealer do.

lo jack, there is no bleeder screw(nipple) on the ABS block.
Need DISplus, MoDiC, GT1 or equivalent to bleed ABS.

In my area 24 months is way to soon, most cars i see can go at least 4 years. Get a brake fluid tester and check the H20 content every 6 months till it shows time to change. Try the FTE W0040, I love mine.

Hard to recommend them when I don't know the location of 'aaa' which is what you list in your profile.

No, I would go to a dealer or a mechanic who has the correct equipment specific to BMW. A good independent mechanic that is familiar with BMWs would be fine.
