Neil just make sure the resistors are well insulated and not placed against other wiring. Resistors will heat up a lot and can be a fire hazard. Not trying to scare you just educating you just in case. I'd wiire-tie it (metal not plastic) to the fender or something metal. Good Luck!

BTW ... I've used LEDs in other cars and opted not use resistors and never had blown LEDs - just have to accept getting some error message on the dash.

I actually installed white LEDs for my rear signal bulbs over a year ago, on my reverse back up bulbs, and also on the side signal by the door just under the model number of the x5 and I never had any cops pull me over for that as well.

Of course, I don't have any pics.

Been meaning to take pics but I'm the one always driving the X5 so I dont' get much chance of taking pic at all.

PS: I didn't install any resistors on those as well and I didn't get any error codes at all...

Sounds like good advice to me, but then again I like not being ripped off by a thief who otherwise wouldn't know where my ride was parked. But to each his own

hey Neil, i got AIB 3.0 too but yours is more white/bluish than mine...

Could it be because you now have the white/bluish turn signal lights?
