I made it back home in 8.5 - 9 hours..... Yes I did 110 - 130 mph through France and once I hit Germany I pushed it 140 - 155 mph. On a daily basis my average speed was 100 mph.... I drove the car like this for about 4 years, from 120K - 240K. So now she stays parked a lot, I went 8 months of her being parked, just recently started back driving it, so now i have to replace the alternater because it is not charging at all.....
my x5 4.4i has 52300mls,many annoying problems,- my e38 740i had 140000mls and run beautifully fully loaded from scotland to france and many long trips at 100 to 120 mph all day even maxed over 155mph fully loaded in quiet comfort.

02 4.4 with ~55k, picked it up past summer with 53.5k. Replaced FSR, battery (possibly before it needed to be due to FSR, but now I know it's new), fixed second key (battery would not charge even after a long drive) which likely was never used as it was in perfect condition ... still have a few things to fix like the driver's window (if you put it all the way down, it can fall off track and I've heard some nice crackling noises so I'm sure I need some new clips, shouldn't be a big deal). Also had an occasional issue with what I believe is one of the rear PDC sensors. I ordered and have one on hand now for when it officially and finally fails for good.

Other than those things (FSR, window clips sound common, battery is routine maintenance, not sure on common-ness of PDC sensor), I haven't had anything yet. I still need to do a bunch of what I consider routine maintenance, but I'd prefer to do it after it warms up

I'm hoping it's as reliable as my BMW 3-series Compact has been (which has over 237k)
