Sirius Kits on Backorder?

We had negotiated the install of a Sirius receiver in our new (to us) CPO X5. We received a call fromt he dealership that the Sirius tuners were on back order, with no ETA, and that it wasn't from BMW, but Siruius themselves? Something about not having released the updated tuner yet? Anyone have any knowledge of this, it sounds a bit like an excuse pulled from the customer service reps you know what...

P.S. -- Does anyone know if we take it in for th einstall if I am going to end up with a black tumor on the roof (Antenna) or if they hide it in the rear wind deflector? I would hope it is a better integrate unit that something from Circuit City..

Kits are actually on a national parts freeze with no ETA for release.

We'll keep the forums updated as soon as we have more info. There's always XM in the meantime (in stock).

Well it is good to know I'm not getting the runaround. Can you give me any details on why these kits are on a Parts Freeze? Are they being updated, will the new version be better and worth the wait?

No reason was given. All pieces that are left in distribution centers are being held for warranty exchanges only.

That's correct - but compatible with 2003+ Business CD.

To answer this question, yes you will end up with a black antenna on the roof. It isn't that noticeable though at all.

Thanks, I was hoping that wasn't the answer though. Its pretty disappointing that a factory kit can't 'hide' the antennna in the rear wind deflector, as they did with the NAV GPS antenna...

Oh sure, its not that noticable on your Black X5, but on our White X5...
