Does that mean it (the equipment you're taking about) fools the untouched systems to sync with the new cluster mileage?
Yes correct! And even BMW cant tell, if the right person with the correct equipment has working on the vehicle!

Thanks for the confirmation. I guess this should be no surprise considering technology and just about anything can be exploited.

And BTW, I don't think anyone here wants to give info on how to do something fraudulent nor would anyone condone it. I ask because I am curious and I think it might be helpful to educate people on how to avoid a fraudulent odometer reading.
Yeah I totally understand and I'm not going to fully disclose how its done, but as mentioned, with the correct hardware and software, all the mileage systems are recoded at the same time, so each unit will display the same miles.

Sudesh is talking about PROJOB and he means PRO. You guys speaking out of text book. You guys are NOT on the same page. Nothing is fraud proof. These PROs are even smarter then the original creators of BMW vehicles.

Fair enough. But my textbook is legal and ethical, not some software hack reverse-engineered in China. I think that getting into a discussion about how to break federal laws about odometer tampering is pretty lame. I don't think that anything is fraud proof, but I can't see any reason to help someone commit fraud. Using the word pro in this context is an insult to us professionals everywhere.

On the other hand, it may have been a totally innocent question by the original poster, and he is just trying to get his new instrument cluster to show the correct (higher) miles. In that case, I go back to my suggestion to visit his dealer, instead of trying to buy a device on the internet.
