booninety is on a distinguished road
parting with my 01 x5 3.0

The time has come and depending on whether my x5 needs a new block or not, I'm going to have to sell it.
I love this car, but cannot afford the repairs. I'm out of warranty and each time something breaks, I see $$ signs in the service specialists eyes. I have a local mechanic who is great...but why pour my hard earned cash into a car that will only ask for more.
does anyone think i should let the dealer buy it for parts or even if they do that sort of thing?
it's in great shape otherwise.
i hate to part with it, too. i thought i'd be an owner for life, but now i'm thinking of going japanese.
again, it's a 2001 3.0 x5 with 105k miles.
i'll post pictures in a few days-once i can see again through my tears!!!!
