Has Anybody had problems with rear wiper??

I have an 03' 4.4i on which the rear wiper only makes contact with the rear glass at the beginning and end of its travel arc.
I have only given it a quick glance but nothing appears bent or damaged at all. At the middle of its travel (straight up, vertical) it is clearly about 1/4 inch away from the glass.
I have only tried to gently push the arm down closer to the glass, but it appears to be sitting in its bottomed out position.
Any advice?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
May need a new arm if it won't hold pressure against the glass.

Was told there was a recall, had same problem when took delivery of my CPO'd 06 4.4 a month ago. They sprayed it with lube and sent me on my way, NO GOOD. Went back and they replaced arm assembly. SA said recall but who knows.

Yeah, me too!! at first, the blade was scratching the rear wing (third stop light) as if it is too long!! i replaced the blade, and after proper installation things got better... but lately, i noticed that the middle portion is not firmly contacting the glass... maybe a new arm will help us... you know what? tomorrow i'll try to fool around with it, maybe i discover some trick :s

I've see that on my 2004 3.0... The wiper blade started losing contact at top of glass... then progressively got worse.

I used silicone to lube it and that helped, but still not making contact entirely. I suppose I need a new wiper arm.

My rear wiper failed yesterday, it went on its first swipe from driver to passenger side and kept going...Got out in snowy traffic to find it dangling like a pendulum over the license plate! Then it wouldnt stay in postion on the back glass, had to get out again and put it in the 12 o'clock position and continue commute w/o rear wiper. there was no pressure or snow on the wiper, just road water, etc. So no reason to fail. Frustrating.

Same issue here. The arm is moving but its not making contact with the glass.... washer spray fluid just flows behind it.

How does one check is a recall exists? Is this covered under any warranty?

Mine, too. Figured if I ran a search here I'd find some answers, but I'm surprised to see how many folks are having this problem just this month.

Mine also 2004 4.4 only wipes the bottom third of the rear window and is getting worse. After seeing so many having trouble, I'm calling the dealer in the morning.

I have a bigger problem: The arm seems to be slipping from the motor mount. I can actually hear it grind, and the movement is intermittent... Small things that drive me insane...
