Skipping windshield wipers
Last fall I was going to replace my windshiled wipers, I went to Pep Boys and bought Bosch wipers, they were about $20 each, I put them on and when I tried them with the windshiled wiper fluid, they skipped accross the windshield, so I put the old ones back on and took the bosch ones back, the old ones were not that bad, I just was going to change them for the winter.
So, I think it is time to change them now, I was told new wipers have a silicone sprayed on them to keep them from drying up and I should use some rubbing alcohol to take it off, that would stop the skipping, anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions, advice, etc?

Had the skipping blades on my 05 when I bought it a couple of months ago. Had them changed at the dealership (still under warranty for a couple of more weeks) and they stopped skipping.

Skipping Wipers
I respect Bosch products and did the same thing when I first bought my X5, and they skipped as well. I returned the Bosch blades and only use the OEM versions now. They have the black weight piece on the blade which seems to help them stay firmly planted on the windshield. No more skipping!

Well I think I found a fix, I bought the Rain-X Latitudes at Pep Boys, I put them on, hit the washer nozzles ALOT and they cleaned clear, no streaks and no skipping.
Paid $40.99 for the pair and until 1/31/09 they are buy one get one free with mail in rebate.
