Hi Mike,
I'm curious why you feel it might be suspension instead of the rotors. I was gonna say rotors too. Is it because the vibration doesn't start until breaking 20%? - Jose |

Warped rotors

I'd say rotors. In other vehicles you can turn them - others will know if you can turn X rotors but I'd guess not.

Thrust arm bushings could be the problem. Rotors is the first most obvious guess...

I guess the question is...what make them warp so quickly. I don't drive the X hard. Could it be as simple as water on hot rotor? My first thought was also the rotor...it just seemed they weren't old enough to have warped already.
Thanks for the input so far Mike |

I've had that happen on other vehicles with non OEM spec rotors - any chance you have that combination?

I don't believe in warped rotors.
Here is why: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...rakedisk.shtml

Replacing bushings fixed that problem for me.

Good article but I don't think there's no such thing as warped rotors. They exist and I've had them in the past on other vehicles and attributed them to excessive heat and or poor quality materials.
Regardless, it sounds like the bushings are a more probable source of the problem for the X. Quote:
