2004 E53 3.0d engine pre-heat?
Hi there, I checked the manual and there is reference to keeping the key in ignition point 1 until the pre-heat symbol on the display console vanishes, issue is my display console does not have the pre-heat symbol, car is an 2004 x5 3.0d, any ideas??? |

In warm temperatures(already warm engine) the pre heating takes about 2 to 4 seconds. When the engine is cold it takes little longer (about 15s). Do you have an original display console or is it replaced earlier?
Can you post a pic of display console during "missing" pre heating?

temps are very warm here rarely under 10c but my display is the same as the diesels in the link below, the display is the original never replaced, if i shine a torch all over it with the engine I cannot see a pre-heat symbol anywhere on the display...will get a pic whilst I have the key in position 1 before I crank the engine..thanks for the reply
