Lighter Steering Wheel?

Before my X5. I've always drove imports. My other car I drive is a 2006 Subaru STi. Eversince I got my X, I have never drove it til today. I've drove various BMW before in the past and today I noticed a remarkably big difference on how heavier the X's steering wheel is to turn. This is the first X5 I've ever drove in my life so I wanted to know if anyone's X also is like that. And is there a way to make the steering wheel a little lighter?

It's also hard for my girlfriend to drive LOL

Yep, that's how they are. Dunno if there's a way to make it lighter but I don't think there is

I think you guys are talking about resistance - not weight.

you can reduce the wheel size and get narrower tires up front, otherwise there's not much else you can do without costing mucho dinero.

I always knew that the steering on the BMW had more resistance than other cars. I love the feel but my girl doesn't. lol

Weasel will become famous soon enough
The steering feel is noticably lighter on the 4.6is/4.8is vs the regular I6/V8 X5s. The valving controling the output of the power steering pump is different.
