Hey X5Newb - how those final pictures coming? We want to see! BTW, did you get a separate black trim strip for the transmission selector or did you have to buy the entire handle? What was the p/n you used?

Got some without using the flash (while X5 was outside), but most I took while in the garage without the flash didn't come out (need tripod). I'll get what I have uploaded to picasa and linked in, hopefully yet tonight. I'll try to take some more later with a tripod inside the garage when it's sunny outside to provide natural lighting as well.

It's about freakin' time! Do you have any idea how many of us were waiting to see this setup. Nice!

Although somehow I thought the gearshift knob would be darker. I guess it's just the angle of the camera that makes it look almost like light poplar.

LOL ... i have an all leather shift knob to swap in yet. This is what I didn't like the sound of:
Quote:
When
the stock lever comes out, it releases the mechanism down inside the
shifter console. In other words, it thinks you are pressing in the
finger release lever... all the time. This has no ill effects on the
car. The "press you foot on the brake to shift" mechanism is still in
place, and is not effected by the absence of the finger release lever on
the shifter at all.
I guess I'm anal, but I want the finger release to work as it does now. Anyone know how to swap the shift knob and keep that functioning properly?

Plus the speedo and tacho dials sitting maxed out stick out like dogs nuts on a canary But yeah, well spotted Meister.

Top job overall. Hope you resolve shifter changer without too much hassle 'cause it's screaming out to be changed like the rest.

I think the door opener and grab handle would look nice now if painted black aswell.Looks great bye the way and will look even better when you change the shifter.
