Rev for iPhone short review

Preview
This is only a quick review, I played with it for about 10 mins.

On a scale of 1-10 the Rev software is an 8 (only because it is not totally up to date with car specific codes). The software does not crash and the interface is a 10. It worked PERFECTLY out of the box and provided better ease of use than my AutoXray and Peak scanners. It's about the same price as a good dedicated unit of the same cost (275.00). If you are in the market I'd get this over a dedicated unit if you own an iPhone.

Here is the most compelling reason to buy this unit over any other unit. Software updates. My AutoXray scanner has been a wonderful tool and I will still use it over the REV until they gets the car manufacturer specific data going. The problem with the AutoXray unit is the updates are a pain in the neck, I have locked myself out of the unit and had to return it to AutoXray and the web interface to download updates is glitches and not reliable. REV will be super easy to update by comparison. If they provide the ability to reset BMW oil and service lights these things will fly of the shelf. I’ll post a better review when I get a problem car to work on.

Sweet, they finally released it. Any info on when they're supposed to get manufacturer specific codes? And/or ability to reset oil/service lights? That would certainly be sweet.

There is no word that either will be added officially that i have found, but I am confident in time this will evolve.

I got one early to support the company I think they are on the right track
