X5 3.0 Engine serial number location????
Customs here in Peru demands they see the engine serial number. It must be recorded for their records. Anyone know where to find it on the block?

Possible location
Here in the USA engine numbers are not recorded by DMV on the title.
Maybe a member in Africa or the UK can check for you. Weasel may also know if he has stripped down an engine to the short block. I remember one of the members doing an engine swap. If he still has the messed up engine he could check for you. This is for a diesel, but may be the same. http://www.justanswer.com/questions/...0l-diesel-2004
