How about OE GPS units that cause cancer, China made...... Dangerous navigation - Global Times Google "defective "China made" automotive parts" Most of the issues are "certified suppliers" to HUGE vehicle manufacturers. In the economic centers of China's automotive parts regions (not out in the sticks).

I read on two other BMW sites that Bremi are the ones you don't want to install, apparently BMW knew of some known issues with them in the early 2000's.

But to the point, good or bad is not the issue, requesting a Bremi unit over the phone, while talking to a BMW dealer parts rep, and getting a different unit is unacceptable. $130 for the BMW/China coilpack and $20 for the boot is absurd, for the cost of 4 units (coils/boots), I could get a full 8 pc set of High Output coils/boots from Bavauto. Found the Bremi Germany coil on AutoPartsWay for $38.88, $91 dollars less for the part I REQUESTED on the phone!

Has anyone heard of MotorKing ignition coil they are Made in Taiwan? I've heard they are pretty decent in quality for 1/4 cost of OEM. I guess they're better than ones made in China.

Code P1349 Misfire cylinder 4 with fuel cut off
I went on Rock Auto.com and it listed for Bosh coil is $57.90 each. I am not sure where you got that information. You can't get OEM Bosch for that cheap. Please check your source again.

Gotcha, I just replaced all eight of my coils last Sunday, I was getting a misfire code in cylinder #4. I replaced mine with the coils the guy in post #24 mentioned, got them on ebay for under $90, they mention how theirs are made with copper windings instead of aluminum. I agree with you on the longevity point, my X has 208K miles, I replaced one coil last year, so you're right, that aint bad. I went with the cheaper ones because I'm getting rid of mine early next year, will be buying an X5M or a 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT8. It runs like a scalded dog now, pick up and power is instantaneous!

I've decided to go with the BREMI Made in Germany instead of MotorKing coils. I realized it cost nearly twice as much but I would feel peace of mind go with Germany parts for my BMW X5.
