How can I determine wether or not my car has air suspension?

You have self-leveling rear air.

if you have this module, then you have full front and rear adjustable air.

2001 X5 i don't have that button,but it shows the picture.Does it work by weight in the vehicle?

Rear air is standard options in all V8 X5's, and is an option on 3.0i X5's. The 4 wheel air is an option for the V8's.

It does work by weight, it is primarily for self leveling when you add loads to the back.

Oops sorry i thought it showed a picture,but i do have two compressors under that turtle shell.

Leveling...

Does this mean left/right. Or is there an attempt to keep the rear of the car at the save level - relative to the front?

If front/back, I would think there must be a compressor in there somewhere. If it is left/right just a valve?

Do you have a diagram of how this works?
