Which tires do you have on your 4.8is?

Talk to you local tire shop, the bmw recomenations are general and dont aply every tire.
I think that you nead more pressure in your tires, you are geting the same but mutch smaler efect on tires like drag racers, in high speed, do to lack of air tire pops upp in the middle.
Usualy if you get uneaven tare on tire, no matter for what reason, it is going to tare that place eaven if you correct alighment, pressure or whatever it was that was taring them.

As i said, talk to the expert on your brand of tire, and ask what pressure you should have.
