Reason: IT SAWKS!!!! I believe there is a reason this system only lasted two years and was changed on the 4.8is (are there other models with servotronic?). It is basically the oppositte of the 4.8is steering system. At low speeds, or during parking you have to turn the wheel more than you do at high speeds (where it tightens up). Correct me if I'm wrong but in the 4.8 you have to turn the wheel less at low speeds, to make parking easier. Here are the scenarios in which the steering system may kill me: I'm going into a bend at 80 - I slow to 55, the steering has suddenly gone light and I land in a ditch. I'm coming up to a turn at 30 mph and slow to take the turn and have no idea how light my steering will become when actually taking the turn. OK to avoid making a huge post let me sum it up by saying I hate this system. I would like it changed to the simple 3.0i steering system (heavy, predictable, confidence inspiring). Is this possible, and can anyone help me as to where to start! |

If you have enough money then I'm sure it can be done. Most likely cheaper to change the vehicle.

I will honestly sell the car if it can't be done.

That design sounds exactly opposite of what it should be doing.
