Xenon light and bluetooth problem on 05 X5 3.0

First of all I would like to say hi to X5world family as a new member. I really love the forums and learn a lot of expert info from other members. I hope I could learn more from everyone as time goes on.

Okie here' my story. I just got my 05 X5 3.0 (nav+prem) with 35k miles on it 2 weeks ago. I notice that my X5 got projector headlight but the color is pretty yellowish. I guess mine got halo bulb inside it but I'm not really so sure. I attach 2 pictures that i took from my X5, so could anyone confirm that I do have halo bulbs inside my projector headlights ( low beam )? And if it's the case, could I just simply buy a HID conversion kit (xenon bulbs + ballast) to get the xenon look?

Another problem is with the bluetooth. I brought my X to bmw dealer for check up and the tech guy said that my TCU is inactive and I need to pay for the bmw road side assitant package ($299/year ?? ) in order to use bluetooth feature. So is this true of what he said? Do I have to register for that service? or is there any way around it to have bluetooth feature back on?

I hope I did not ask too much since I'm a real X nobie.

Thank you guys.

I can't help you with your headlight issues others will chime in I'm sure. Firstly can you confirm that you have a ULF module for the BT ?? without it you have no BT. It will be located under the boot floor or possibly attached to the rack system LHS (mine is installed below the floor). It's easily recognized by a pink and white plug that goes into one end. On one side face of the module you will see a sticker with a 'PK & a 4 digit number, that is the passkey for your module. You need to key that in when promted in order to pair and activate BT. After that follow procedure to install all your phone numbers etc. Plenty of help here - ELECTRONICS & CELL PHONE on the Home Page. You also need to instal www.irfanview.com in order to reduce pic file size.

Oops, I'm sorry for the oversized pix, edited it.

About ULF module, I think I saw one the right under my nav comp in the back on left side. It was mounted almost vertical. Everytime I try to activate the phone, it keeps saying " Activate Phone...Please wait " and hang there forever. The led indicator light just right above the nav screen is red which mean " bluetooth inactive" according to the the manual. I have no idea what to do now .

See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...tooth-ulf.html for tips on pairing the phone. You do not need to have Assist activated in order to use Bluetooth
