Door wont OPEN, HELP!!!

It will not open from either the inside or outside. I have read the string for if it will not open from one side o the other but nothing about not opening at all. It is the drivers side door so we have to climb over the seat, GHETTO, Please help in a way to get this thing open. I have yet to investigate at the dealer, figured someone has delt with it. PlusI am sure they want like a million$$$ to fix it.

Thanks in advance

Maybe the lock actuator is in the locked position and the door is locked.
Or maybe the linkage became disengaged and you have to open the panel.
does the outside handle or inside lever move at all?

Yes like mr bmw x5 said. you have a broken door handle carrier. The wire inside is too slacked... Common problem on our X's.. I had dealt with this last winter so I know what you're going thru. Its 550 bucks at the dealer to get it fixed by the way... There is a DIY on this site though you can try, but its a little complicated for the average person... you can serach this site under "frozen door latch" and you'll find a bunch of similar problems that others including myself have had regarding this.

Ok, so to be clear, before I try this, by the way thanks for the advice. My door will not open from interior or exterior handles, both handles are not frozen and move freely. I will try this fix and feel confident if I have explained myself correctly it should be fixed. I have moderate skills on these types of things but do have some friends who are advanced so I am thinking between us and some coldies we can fix it... Thanks for your help folks, we really appreciate it

Thanks again!!!

will the new carrier prevent the frozen door issue? Is the new carrier redesigned or the same as the original?
