| X5 cutting out when stationary

Hi all... I am new to the forum and straight away i need your help?!?! I have a X5 2001 (3.0) model, and the car cuts out. The garage tells me its the camshafts sensors that needs replacing and theres 3 of them. Could they be telling me the truth? can this cause the problem? Sorry, i really dont know much about cars but find it hard to believe that a sensor can cause this headache... Any suggestions would be great and many thanks in advance Jess |

welcome and start browsing this website a bit more. you will find out your answer. good luck learning about your x. it will become your headache from now on given it is an 8 years old vehicle. but you will find most of the answers here. not to scare you but start saving big bucks now. those sensors issue is just one of the repairs you will face. the list is long like interstate 95. be ready.
