Factory subwoofer for BMW X5

I am planning to install a sub woofer.
Budget is tight. Has to ba a DIY.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AIT&viewitem=

Will this fit in my 2006 X5, non DSP system ? Will I need to buy an amplifier ?

What would be a reasonable price ?

Thanks

You won't even be able to hear the difference with the OEM sub - its a POS.
Go with an after market solution. Do a search on the forum. There are plenty of options.

well, some people like to keep their cars stock and that piece is pretty rare.

I disagree that you won't notice the difference, it just won't be chest pounding, solid bass.

Ok fair enough... I've kept mine for the reason you mentioned (when I sell my X it's going back in)

Actually, its not quite a total POS. When used with the factory amp its nothing more than another set of 6" speakers behind a panel. HOWEVER, I used an aftermarket amp and its a whole new world. True, its not a set of mind blowing subs, (ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY AREN'T 10" SUBS MIND YOU) but the sound is really nice. When you push them with an aftermarket amplifier they are great.
