If you guys think some of the fugly cars in this thread are painful to see, imagine how the German engineers from BMW would feel. They'd probably commit suicide. "Schiese Hans! I sink i vill vomit", "I know Helmut, I vant to kill myself."

I know a lot of guys here like to mod, and I respect that especially when you improve its handling and performance, but I actually put extra effort into keeping the car as original as possible and looking like the day it came out of the dealership. I don't even hang anything from the rear view mirror, no fuzzy dice, no air fresheners, nothing. I love the clean look and the feeling of getting into a brand new car every day. Also I think over time stock cars are worth more.

Hey sam48is, that's a really good and interesting observation. I used to be really into stereo equipment a while back and read most of the major magazines (home & car stereo mags both) on a regular basis. I'd say that WITHOUT EXCEPTION every single car stereo magazine article would start with ..."the stock stereo setup in the car of course was crap and probably just shoved in without any real thought put into the design, acoustics, etc. etc." It didn't matter if they were talking about a Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Ferrari, whatever. The stock stereos always got the same level of disrespect. And then I remember reading in brochures and magazines about all the acoustic engineers working for BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc. and how the interiors are spatially tuned, etc. and I always thought, boy if those guys ever picked up a car stereo mag, they probably either commit suicide or at least put a hit out on the editors!

Taste is something that cannot be bartered, and (un?)fortunately not everyone's is the same. If someone wants to turn his original car into an unholy abortion - then I will probably shake my head, and "tsk-tsk" to myself. I might even make a comment on a board, but in the end, it is his car, and his taste (that for me is in question); otherwise it does no harm to me or my car, so I guess it is no big deal.
