Switch headlights on, on approach at night

Scenario - Night time, X5 parked in dark side alley, returning to car, vision poor, why can't I turn head lights on at approach with remote ??

I appreciate and think it's a great idea that upon departing your X at night one can illuminate the h/lights for a short period however when approaching, that option is not available, or is it ??

im not sure but if you have an automatic car starter and you switch is turned to auto it would do this, it would make sense that it would.......wouldnt it

why are you parking in a dark side alley to begin with your already aware of the danger cause you need it illuminated to walk down

Weasel will become famous soon enough
You could also get a remote fog lights kit and hook it up to the OEM fogs.
