Use Search Tab...there are literally pages of full threads on topic;

On an 05 I really would not touch the tranny fluid unless I had problems...
I changed the fluid in my 01 4.4 25k miles ago because my reverse was slipping.
Since then it has been acting much better and still going.

Also I am assuming that the '04 and up transmissions are better than the 00-03

As others have indicated, the problematic transmissions in the E53, especially the V8s, cause a good deal of discussion on this topic.

I have a 3.0 and decided to change mine:

Why would you want to change the fluid when you only have 17k miles on it? No reason to do this what so ever...

I wouldn't do it at 17k.
