Just a word of caution. Anything (OEM) for the E70 will NOT fit the E53 unless you use hubcentric ring adapter. Some replicas will make E70 style wheels for the E53 without needing hubcentric rings...so do your research before plunking down for a set.

i recently purchased an 06 3.0i that came with 17's. i love the car but couldn't stand the wheels. i searched high and low for OEM style 87 wheels for a solid month and a half. thankfully i just found a seller in Chicago selling OEM style 87 with tires for only $1600!

i just found 2 sets of style 87 on eBay if you are interested at reasonable prices.

Spacers? Do I need to get them? What are they? I thought the 20" wheels can go right on the 4.4....

OEM wheels usually come as a set of 5 right? not 4?

If you're going with OEM 20", you're probably not going to need spacers.

I doubt it. The X didn't come with a full size spare.

Oh, hah! I haven't actually looked at the spare that closely yet, it's not full size? It looked pretty close and looked like it had the same rim when I glanced at while snooping around in there. (wasn't paying attention)

But here's another question... Is there any reason I wouldn't want to have the same front/back tire sizes on the X5? The sets of style 215's look like they're all 20x10.5, haven't seen any sets of them in a staggered setup. I've always had staggered tires on my previous cars but this is my first SUV and my first AWD car.

I guess I shouldn't have used "full-size" I meant it isn't the same as the wheels on the car. Probably because I'm so used to my 4.8.

If you have an X with smaller, non-staggered wheels then maybe you do have the same wheel for a spare. In the 4.8 that's staggered, they don't.

OEM 215s are staggered. Replicas usually are not. Whether you go staggered or not is personal preference but the 4.8s were deigned to have staggered wheels.
