I hear Samana is silverish in regular light - not beige like in your pics. That's what everyone is saying - its Samana Beige.
See the pics here and compare: eBay Motors: BMW X5 SAMANA BEIGE INTERIOR TRIM 01 02 03 04 05 06 (item 220372709238 end time Mar-09-09 20:27:53 PDT) |

If you ever do a CF wrap, go with real CF or at least a high quality CF fabric. NEVER WRAP THEM in CF vinyl. It my look good in pictures but it looks horrible in person.

Twins is right, Samana Beige seems to throw different shades dependant on light present. In direct sunlight it appears to have a pearl look to it.
CF finish sounds interesting, like Nova says do it properly though.

Hey X Foomph, is your steering trim OE BMW in the matching color or did you paint it to match?
BTW, wonder why the ebay seller also calls it Samana beige / gold in another auction? |

Yes the st/wheel trim is oem. I haven't touched it. Seems a fairly rare finish as I've only seen 1 other X with it. Some folks don't like it, some do. I found it appealing because it drifts away from the standard timber trims which everybody else has. Also don't mind the silver and or piano black from a recent thread.

I agree. It's unique which makes it quite nice. I'm not a big fan of the light poplar trim because it's everywhere and I never really liked it all that much in the first place, but the natural poplar trim is incredible. Even though it's even lighter than the light poplar, I think the reason I really think it's great is because it's so rare.
What REALLY surprised me what that your steering wheel has the same trim! THAT is very very unusual. If you ever take it off for any reason I'd really like to know the p/n of it. (BTW, what is the production date and model of your car?) I always felt BMW should offer matching steering wheel trim to interior trim, but they rarely do. Your car is an incredible exception! Natural Poplar on the left. Light Poplar on the right. Last edited by X5 Meister; 03-10-2009 at 01:45 AM. |
