30% brighter OE BMW headlight bulbs?

Does anyone know what this is about? Check out the 3rd reference of #13. Evidently there are a few different BMW's with this option. And for the X5's it seems to include all the M54's and the M62's, but not the N62's. Anyone have these? What's the story? P/N 63 21 7 170 652

I liked the silverstars on my ML but heard prior that they don't last long - sure enough they didn't. Don't know if it has to do with MB electrics or what.

Any reason why they can't be used in the N62 X5's?

I have no idea but wouldn't think so. Unless something maybe like the wattage changed.

Realoem doesn't show them as compatible. I didn't know that pre-facelift and facelift X's had headlights that were fundamentally different. ?
