Pics of my Interior Lighting Mod
My favorite mod so far! The pictures don't do it justice! They look great in person and at night. The front lights don't travel too far; it travels about 1/3 of the wood trim. The rear ones are great, they travel to the end and they dim as it does so. I can't keep my eyes off of them!

Would've been nice if the light traveled across the length of the wood trim...

Looks cool. Wish I had the time and patience.

I thought those LEDs were supposed to light up the door handle recess, in effect showing where the door handle is in the dark
Maybe Tom could take a few pics of his and show us what his look like. C'mon Tom you said you would. Looks good anyway. Nothing like a twist to a mod.

That's exactly how it is in the new 3 series coupe. Looks awesome. THAT would be a sweet retrofit IMHO. As done, I agree the door handle isn't illuminated and that should stand out more than anything else.

thanks for the comments!
the E92 was definitely on my mind when I was coming up with a solution. If I had better tools (my drill was too weak, which was why I didn't/couldn't drill through the door handle). I wanted to have the light come out from behind the door grip, so it would have some soft lighting that looked like the E92's. I'll probably try that a little later. The front door LEDs is too tied down, which is why the light is only showing in towards the front. THe LEDs on the rear doors are looser which allowed me to make the light travel the entire length of the wood, although I would like it to be more even. If anyone has a solution like to improve the light travel or the BMW-amber colored LEDs, tell me how!
