DIY Help - CD Changer Installation

I picked up an Imola Red 4.4 2006 with lots of nice options like DSP, DVD NAV but no CD changer. I found a changer online, using the instructions on this very site I'm stuck at step 6:

6. Locate audio and power cables in vehicle.

I see some cables that look like they are probably the right ones but they are already plugged into something - can't tell what, the wires disappear under the floor (so maybe they aren't the right wires at all).

Anyone been through this? I should note that it looks like this car used to have a CD changer - (bolt) markings on the paint where it would have been mounted. I'm guessing the dealer (not a BMW dealer) relieved me of the CD changer and put it in her own X5.

The instructions are here:

If they are used already then they aren't the right ones. You need to locate cables in that area that are specific to the cd changer. Take a few pictures and someone will identify them for you.

pictures

Here are some pictures of the cable area. I've done some more poking around and tugging and still no luck.

Check for SIRIUS install...

Just a thought but, if this vehicle had a sirius install, I believe the audio extension cables would have been extended from the changer area (your photo) to the spare wheel area....

I could be way off here but refer to the sirius install instructions for a good look at how the wires would have be routed from CD changer location to the spare wheel area, and back again.....

single wire to dsp?

I removed the little shroud that the wires go under - they route through the spare tire area, seemingly towards the front of the vehicle. No sign of a sirius install to my untrained eye.

I'm starting to wonder if I need another part, the connection to the DSP amp seems to be a single wire connection, presently its from the DVD player. I don't know what's going to happen that will allow me to have two things going into that single connection. If that is indeed what I have then bimmernav.com says I need another part (wire assembly):

IF your BMW is equipped with DSP Audio system AND you have the single wire audio connection from CD Changer to DSP amp E39 P/N 61.12.0.140.718 (620mm) 6 wire CD Input cable ($13.12) E39
X5 P/N 61.12.0.140.716 (3000mm) 6 wire CD Input cable ($13.12) X5

But elsewhere on their site they say that an X5 of my vintage shouldn't have the single wire connection to the DSP.

Disclaimer - I'm not certain that the thing I'm looking at is the DSP and if it is, there is another connection on there - something plugged into it, looks like 6 wire but I didn't count carefully.
