This has nothing to do with defective seat sensors, which of course can happen anywhere. GL to homeboogie getting it right.
I was blessed with a 2004 model which is just like the rest of the world: A simple light on the dash. They implemented the irritating chime sometime in 2005 I think.

Mine is doing this now. Seat belt chime randomly goes off whether or not anything is in the seat. I have it permanently buckled right now, but I don't like that.

Sooooo, is there a DIY for replacing the seat belt sensor?
