Knee bolster removal

So I'm removing an aftermarket Nav system, and the power wire was running up under the steering wheel. So to get at the splice I need to get behind the paneling under the steering wheel.

Anyone have some direction or info on removing that under paneling below the steering wheel? I've taken all the visible screws out, but before i start pulling I'd like to have an idea of what to expect... Thanks in advance!

On my 4.8 there are 3 areas.

1) Lowest area (plastic panel) has about 4-5 screws and 2 plastic twist-off holders by the firewall.

2) Next is the lower dash. More screws.

3) The lower dash is attached to a plastic/rubbery steering column cover. Be careful not to tear it. They are jsut snapped on with some plastic push-ins.

Check the article for a DIY wiring angel eyes as DRLs, I think there are pics there.

Good luck!
