Its funny how I'm a newb but I joined in 3/07! Exactly 2 yrs ago! Thats how long it took me to find a Estoril 4.8is! I did pass on Jvanti's 4.8is when I first saw it. Crazy how he ended up buying it!

well allow me to retort !!

no i do not work for bmw !! when i saw them for sale on ebay i was unsure of its validity ,so i called !!

now as for you thinking you got taken was your own stupidity , when the dealer says they have them you shouldve called one local to you and done your due dillegence !!

as for this thread , the only reason i started it was because i know there was alot of people looking for the oem and in an effort to help them/this community i posted !!

so for the next time don't believe everyting the bmw parts lady tells you and did you ever think for a second that the lady was talking about her boss putting up the ebay ad and not this thread !! sheesh some people

The dealer told me they had found them in a warehouse move and they had them stocked the whole time. We all know now that was a flat out lie and BMW started shipping them to dealers all over the country. It cost me the unnecessary shipping from the east coast. Don't you think that is taking advantage of the situation just to make a sale? TwinsPoppa bought one he didn't even need need to help a friend. He was the one who reallg got screwed trying to be helpful.

I did in fact call my dealership FIRST and they were unaware they would be getting them in stock shortly so I ordered it right as not to hesitate and miss out on something I needed very badly. Is that really stupid or is that what the smart person would do knowing full well that there were 400 other people looking for them? Stupid is installing an inferior curt hitch without caring if it destroys your sub-frame?

I apologize for thinking you were the one working for the dealership and again apreciate the notification. It makes sense she could have been talking about the e-bay posting. I do not apologize for blasting BMW of Bloomfield for dishonest business practice or calling you out to find out if you were the guy she was talking about. Nevertheless, I am happy to be able to tow the boat just in time for summer.

Okay, just so there's no misundertanding, speaking for myself I don't feel I got screwed. Its not like I can't sell it or it all of a sudden lost 50% of its value. I'm sure someone else could use it. If I lose some money reselling it, I already took that possibility into acct. before getting it - so my eyes were wide open. Looking out for my friend was the priority at the time.
